Whence the name?

It’s a blend of ink + emphatic.

Ink, because calligraphy is a long-time love of mine, and I enjoy writing by hand even if I have to use a regular ballpoint.

Emphatic, because I believe that the right word used in the right way can have an extraordinary impact.

The purpose of this website is to document my writing and editing journey to the benefit of others (or at least myself) and to assist the common user with mastering MS Word (and other software).

My daytime job is Document Control Specialist; for this I develop templates and write and edit procedures, forms, and work instructions using MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint 2013 and Adobe Acrobat Professional.  I’m also a Microsoft Office Specialist Expert.
